The lighting installation “ΑθήΝεον” was presented during Traces of Commerce initiative for the activation of the Gallery of Merchants and its empty shops. The beforelight team collected old and newer light signs referring to mercantile activities that we usually see in Athens and bring memories to surface of the past. The signs’ alteration took place as a workshop open to public related with the art of the sign making. The final result became a new lighting system of the Gallery of Merchants and refers to a temporary “museum” of light signs in the center of Athens.
